Camille Vahary Ottomanelli (nee Altomere) of Gary, IN, born November 19,1930 passed away on January 3, 2024, in
Las Vegas, NV surrounded by many of her grandchildren. Camille was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Albert Vahary and her second husband of 24 years, Emilio Ottomanelli. Also preceded by her 3 children: John, Denise, Robert and 4 siblings.
Camille is survived by 1 sibling, Mike Mione; 2 children inherited from her marriage to Emilio, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews are also among the bunch that will be mourning her passing, along with many friends and in-laws as well.
Camille was a Rockette for 1 year and her love of dancing never wavered. She was avidly into music and politics. Camille had numerous other jobs, but her favorite career was being a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandma. She loved to travel and has been around the world as she would say. Camille was the matriarch of our family and loved being able to talk to everyone in the family as often as she could, which was daily for her to most. Once you were loved by Camille you were loved fiercely and completely. She didn't hold back on her opinion so if she said it, she felt it deep in her heart. Camille loved to see others happy, she had a great sense of humor and enjoyed using it.
Camille was loved by many, will be missed by all, but forgotten by none.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery, 2305 W. 73rd Avenue, Merrillville, IN. www.burnsfuneral.com
