NEW MADISON -- Kimberly Sue Shaffer, 53, of New Madison, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
She was born on December 25, 1971, in Greenville to Thomas A. and Shirley (Rhoades) Bruner.
In addition to her parents, Kim is lovingly remembered by her husband, James "JD" Shaffer, and their beloved children: Remington J. (Caitlin) Hileman, Jacob D. Shaffer (MaKenzie Brantley), and Gage T. Hileman (Breeann Lipps). She cherished her role as a grandmother to Hudson T. Hileman and Hunter J. Shaffer, who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Rebecca "Beck" Spencer, along with her nephews and nieces, Jason Hale Jr., Kasen Hale, Annabeck Spencer, Katlyn Frame, and Haley Frame. Kim's family connections extended to her in-laws, including her mother and step father-in-law, Debra A. (Brent) Vanwinkle and father-in-law, Doug Shaffer, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Faith (Ryan) Frame and Brandon Shaffer. She leaves behind a network of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
Kimmy is preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Jason Hale Sr. and Chase Spencer; and nephew, Lil Brandon Shaffer.
Kim was a 1990 graduate of Tri-Village High School in New Madison. She worked in orthodontics for over 30 years, where she made countless friends. When she wasn't working, Kimmy delighted in her family. She was always loving and supportive to those she loved and would always make time to spend with them. One of her favorite ways to show her love was to bake for people. Kimmy enjoyed taking pictures. Her new grandson was her pride and joy.
Kimmy was a member of the American Legion Auxillary Post 360 in New Paris, and the AMVETS Post 726 in Eldorado.
A celebration of Kim's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Tony Price officiating.
Family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the start of service at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
