Kimberly Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Royer Funeral Home - Oak Grove on Feb. 4, 2026.
Kimberly Ann Thompson (Todd) passed away on January 4, 2026, in Oak Grove, Missouri, at the age of 50.

Kimberly was born on April 25, 1975, in Lee's Summit, Missouri, to Vicki Todd. She grew up in Independence, Missouri, and attended William Chrisman High School. Kimberly found her greatest joy in singing, playing the piano, and spending time with those she loved most-especially her children and grandchildren. She cherished peaceful mornings, enjoying a warm cup of coffee while watching the sunrise.

Kimberly was a residential assessment appraiser and a devoted homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Betty Lou Williams, and her great-grandparents, Marshall Christopher Hanes and Marcia Alberta Hanes (King).

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her three children, Brandon Thompson, Justin Thompson, and Marcia Thompson, all of Independence, Missouri; her two grandchildren, Taylon Campbell Jr. and Koda Campbell; and a third grandchild, Lincoln Greenfield, expected to arrive in April 2026, whom Kimberly helped to name. She is also survived by her mother, Vicki Todd; her aunt, Deborah Peace; and many other loving family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Community Church, 102 SW 9th Street, Oak Grove, Missouri 64075, on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
