Kimberly Elaine Walker

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my high school friend Kimmie. My sincerest condolences to you, Polly, and your entire family. Kim was an avid tea drinker and shared her experiences at the Russian Tea House in NY and selections of different teas with me. Our last meeting together was at my par-tea with other classmates. She was kind, intelligent, thoughtful, and extremely supportive. After the tea party, she wrote me a letter, gifting me her special tea flavors. And, yes, she did love the sounds of the coqui of Puerto Rico. She was such a great fan of my children's book, "There's a Coqui in My Shoe!", and purchased many copies and spread the word. I am very sorry for your loss, Polly. You will be missed, Kimmie! Life is better with good company and a cup of brew. We´ll meet again to enjoy a warm cuppa in Heaven. May you rest in peace, Kim. Sending you lots of love.

I was so shocked to learn the sad news. Kimmy. My goodness. So sorry I'm not able to attend. All my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so incredibly grateful that I had the honor to have Dr. Walker as my professor. She never failed to make me laugh everyday. Although I might not have been her most perfect student, she always believed in me, even when I didn´t. Dr. Walker´s passion for microbiology always pushed me to do the best of my ability. I am so thankful for every moment I spent with her. I send my deepest condolences to Dr. Walker´s family. Her memory will be immensely cherished.

As a retired Professor Emeritus from Kim's UD department, I first met her as a passionate believer in the contributions of Medical Laboratory Scientists to healthcare. We had just begun discussing her involvement in the Delaware affiliate society of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science... I am so saddened not to be able to experience more of her dedication in person. She will be missed!

Rest well

I was one of her students. One of my best friends and I would see her almost every day after lab in her office and have a chat with her. We´d talk about scientific concepts, future academic goals, and many other random topics. I didn´t know her for long, but she was one of the best professors I´ve had. We always joked about all of her students having a seafood boil with her once we all graduated to celebrate. I know I´ll remember her every time I step into a laboratory.

I´m so saddened to hear of Kim´s passing. We met so many years ago at Northeast Jr High and remained friends ever since. We never ran in the same circles, but having the same name kept us crossing paths through life. She will be deeply missed. Condolences to everyone who´s life she touched.

I have known Kim for 30 years or more. She was an unfailing kind and wonderful person every time I saw her at American Society for Microbiology meetings. I appreciated her calm demeanor, and her patience with my personality. I just had an email from her a few weeks ago, and all seemed fine. Thus, I am shocked and sad. We all need friends like Dr. Kimberly Walker. I know than better than most. Deepest condolences to friends and family. Please let me know if there are efforts to create scholarships in her name.
