Kinfar Leung Moyerman

Kinfar “Kim” Leung Moyerman of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025 surrounded by her family. Kinfar was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania on May 3, 1952 to Yick Shan and Fung Kim Leung. She was a graduate of Philadelphia High School for Girls and Temple University. Kinfar worked as a computer programmer, one of the industry's early female professionals.

Above all, Kinfar was a family person: wife, mother, sister, grandmother. She was always ready with a kind word and a loving smile. Her children and grandchildren were a great source of pride, and they stand as testimony to the example she set and the standard she upheld. She opened her home to family and friends alike, hosting holiday celebrations that melded the best parts of her Jewish and Chinese heritage. As the sign in her kitchen read, “This house is built on rice and matzoh.”

Kinfar found joy in caring for others, volunteering each week at Jeannes hospital, creating beauty in her home, often DIYing updates. She loved learning and passing her knowledge along to family and friends. Her love of her home city and its sports teams was present in every room and most outfits.

Perhaps her most dedicated role was as wife to Louis for nearly 50 years. His accomplishments and accolades were hers as well, and the strength of their relationship helped them navigate times of great joy, and the inevitable challenges of life. Their marriage stands as a shining example of deep love and genuine partnership.

In addition to Louis Robert, Kinfar is survived by her children, Samuel Joseph (Elizabeth), Tina Christy (J. Andrew), Stephanie Michelle (Steven), and Adam Daniel (Olivia); her grandchildren Arthur, Harold, Jack, Anna, and Adira; her siblings Leona Pang, Henry Leung, Yin Young, Dan Wells, Sue Leung, and KingQue Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Yick Shan and Fung Kim Leung, as well as sister Keng Sin Leung.

Shiva will be observed at the Moyerman Residence on Thursday, October 16th at 4 pm through evening services, as well as Friday, October 17th through Sunday, October 19th from 11 am through evening services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Allen's Lane Art Center or PJ Library in Kinfar’s name to honor her love of the arts and her community.
