Taylor, Kip Kip Nathan Taylor, loving son, brother, and uncle, passed away from COVID-19 on Easter evening, April 12, 2020. Kip was born on July 7, 1961 in Lansing, MI, to Kenneth N. and Jacqueline D. (Richardson) Taylor. Kip grew up in Grand Ledge, MI, and graduated from Grand Ledge Public Schools in 1979. Kip was very active in Cub Scouts, Webelo Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Boy Scouts while in school. He loved spending time with his brother at Grandma & Grandpa's cottage on Duck Lake, and on the farm with Grandma and Grandpa near Traverse City, where Grandma always had a picnic basket packed for a trip to lots of places in and around Traverse City, and where Grandpa was always ready to take him, his dad & his brother, Kevin on a trip up or down the Manistee River. He was always ready to go for a ride in his Dad's airplane, attending Dawn Patrol breakfasts throughout Michigan. He attended Hillsdale College, where he majored in History & Sociology, Lansing Community College, and Davenport University where he earned a diploma in a Payroll Specialty area. Kip served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years and was Honorably discharged in 1985. Kip was employed for 15 years at Peckham Industries in Lansing, and recently moved to Muskegon where he was employed in the automotive manufacturing industry. He was particularly interested in U.S. history and traveled to many historical sites, including Gettysburg, PA, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Virginia, and Washington D.C. to visit historical museums. Kip was blessed with quick wit, kindness, and a natural inquisitiveness. Kip was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Lansing, and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Grand Ledge, where he was active in the Youth Group. Kip is survived by his mother, Jacqueline "Jackie", his brother, Kevin (Susan), and his beloved niece Alexandra Margaret Taylor, his uncle, Ronald (Judy) Richardson, his aunt, Rozanne (Robert) Doty, and several cousins. Kip was preceded in death by his beloved father, Kenneth, and all his loving grandparents. Per his wishes, he has been cremated, and there will be a family service perhaps sometime in the summer when family can again come together in remembrance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Grand Rapids, MI, or in honor of health care workers by supporting the COVID-19 Response Funds at a West Michigan Hospital of your choice: Metro Health/University of MI Health Foundation, Mercy Health (St.Mary's Foundation) and Spectrum Health Foundation.
