I remember when we sat together in the '52 Chevy one night after I got out of the Army, and we quoted the verse, "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you." (Philippians 1:3) We were sharing our faith that night, and what we had learned, as we often did.
I have such overwhelming sadness since you passed, Kirk. So many things went wrong after that night in 1982, but we stayed close, and we stayed in touch, even though I moved a thousand miles away. It brought profound grief to find out you died one night, all alone, with no one beside you, with no one to comfort you. You were suffering so much. I guess maybe that's why the Lord took you home. I will always remember how sweet you were when you opened your heart, and I will always remember you in the best possible light, my dear brother, I miss you more than words can say.
