Kirt Dressel Obituary
On Saturday, August 24, Kirt Dressel, loving father, son, brother, and uncle, passed away at the age of 54.
Kirt Dressel, age 54, of Elk Mound, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Marshfield Hospital in Weston, WI. He was born July 5, 1970, in Chippewa Falls to Brent and Janice (Iverson) Dressel.
He was baptized at Jim Falls Methodist Church and confirmed at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church in Elk Mound. He attended school in Elk Mound and went on to get a degree at Chippewa Valley Technical School and furthered his education at UW-Stout.
He is survived by his son, Austin Dressel (Hailey Prince); daughter, Courtney (Greg) Poeschel; mother, Janice Dressel; sister, Sue (Dominique) Joachim; nephews, Dustin and Damen Joachim; niece, Alexis Joachim; and his closest friend and confidant, Tony (Jennifer) Horel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Brent; grandparents, Orville and Grace Iverson and Bernard and Ruth Dressel; and his dog, Gunner.
Kirt loved his family with his whole heart. If he wasn't with his family or helping Austin with his tractor pulls you would find him on his land. He would be getting the fields planted for the animals. He spent many hours in those woods doing what he loved, hunting. That is where we will find him, sitting in a tree watching for the big one.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 30 at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church with Rev. Hal Schroetter officiating. Burial will follow at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church.
