Klet M. Freeland Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2025 surrounded by family. Born in Terra Alta, WV to Klet Sr. and Viola Freeland, he resided in the Suffield Township area all of his adult life. He retired from Goodyear after 38 years of service and also worked part time at Beltz Lawn & Garden. Klet enjoyed hunting, racing cars, watching NASCAR, rebuilding antique tractors and spending time with his family.
In addition his parents Klet was preceded in death by sons, Jeff Freeland, Tim Freeland; grandson, Ryan. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 69 years, Shirley; children, Mark Freeland, John Freeland, Kimberly Freeland; grandchildren, Eva, Tony, Debbie, Brittany, Derek, Tiffany, Dawn, Penny; several great grandchildren; siblings, Dave, Bonnie.
Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, May 9, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Klet's name to the Suffield Fire Department.
