In Loving Memory of Kongphanh Nanthavongsa

October 29, 1981 – July 21, 2025

Kong Nanthavongsa, 43, of Sacramento, California, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and deep love for his family. Born in Dallas, Texas, Kong grew up with a vibrant spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving mother, father, sister Mani, and two brothers, Q and Bebe, who will forever cherish his memory. Kong was more than an uncle - he was his nieces' and nephews' best friend, a constant source of laughter, guidance, and joy.

To his sister Mani, Kong was a lifelong best friend. He helped shape her music tastes with his love for '90s alternative rock, influenced her style and humor, and shared an unbreakable bond built on countless memories.

Kong shared countless adventures with his brothers - from riding bikes with Q (and often getting them stolen) to going to concerts and movies with Bebe, making memories that will be held close forever. He was his mother's closest companion, devoted to her in every way, always willing to give everything he had - even the shirt off his back or his very last dollar.

Kong will be remembered for his kindness, his welcoming nature, his effortless humor, and the most wonderfully obnoxious laugh - a sound that will be missed beyond words. His impact on his family and friends will live on in the music, and the laughter he inspired.

"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky." - Pearl Jam

A celebration of Kong's life will be held on Thursday, July 31st at 2:00 PM in Sacramento, CA at North Sacramento Funeral Inc, where family and friends will gather to honor the incredible person he was.

Kong - we love you forever, and we'll carry you in our hearts until we meet again
