Korey Nicholas Vera

Korey Nicholas Vera, a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, grandson and friend, passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 54, in El Paso, Texas. Korey, known for his witty personality and infectious smile, left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Korey was born on February 16, 1971 in El Paso, Texas. From a young age, Korey's personality was a beacon of light, bringing joy and laughter to all who knew him. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, and his kindness knew no bounds.
Korey was a devoted fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Las Vegas Raiders and loved the music of Prince and Eddie Money. Korey also loved living in Austin and called it home. He especially loved the live music scene and made many friends there who will miss him dearly.
In his passing, Korey leaves behind a legacy of love and a reminder to cherish every day. He is survived by his mother, Karon Abbott and her husband Paul; his father, Nicholas Vera and his wife Monica; his siblings, Cicely, Jacob and Katelyn; his abuelita Natalie Vera; his aunt, Nadine Vera; and his nephews, Dimitrio, Mykel, and Roman. His absence will be deeply felt, but the warm memories he created with each person he touched will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those left to honor his memory.
