Korinne “Kori” Beth Bush was born on Wednesday, March 15, 2000, to Sheri Findlay and Duston Bush. She passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 23, 2026.

From the moment she was born, Kori was a free spirit bound for adventure. She was only three months old when she was first strapped to her mom’s chest to go ATV riding. Growing up, she could be found at her grandparents’ house in West Haven, helping care for all kinds of animals: dogs, goats, and (Kori’s favorite) a potbelly pig she named “Cupcake.”

At five years old, Kori joined the Girl Scouts. Her love of camping and spending time with others found roots in Troop 578, where she met many lifelong friends. She enjoyed collecting badges and being outdoors in nature. One of her favorite events was the annual Leader-Daughter retreat with her mom, where she could always be seen in the middle of a dance circle doing the “Charlie Brown”. She went on to earn both her Bronze and Silver Awards for her achievements and service to the community.

She was attending Weber State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. While there, she also took courses to enhance her love of photography. Her photos earned high praise from her professors and later went on to win multiple first place ribbons at both the Weber County and Utah State Fairs.

Kori loved to travel, including a nine-month stint in Washington state where she lived with family friends and worked in a bakery. It was always her goal to return to Washington and make it her forever home. She loved every second she spent exploring; whether it was spending New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas or rappelling in Goblin Valley, Kori always had a camera around her neck. She was in the process of planning her next big adventures, a road trip to Alaska, with her mother as co-pilot, and a trip to Mexico with her dad and stepmom.

Kori was a creative soul through-and-through. Whether it be baking, photography, or old-fashioned arts-and-crafts; she was always creating, experimenting, or making something new out of something old. She loved to craft with her nieces and nephew, and their artwork covered the walls of her apartment.

She was an avid sports and movie fan. Kori’s favorite job was working as a shift-lead at the Cinepointe 6 movie theater. She loved musicals, 80s films, and would watch every Marvel blockbuster with her mom on the opening night. Kori also enjoyed attending plays and had season tickets to the Centerpoint Theatre with her dad and stepmom for several years. Kori followed NASCAR and F1 and looked forward to an opportunity to attend a race. She was a passionate hockey and baseball fan. Kori was an especially dedicated fan of the Ogden Raptors and frequently baked treats for the team.

She was adventurous. Her love of photography often found her exploring abandoned buildings or climbing mountain peaks in search of the perfect shot. Kori was a collector of shells, mementos, rubber ducks, and rocks. It was a rare occurrence when she wouldn’t stop just to pick up a “cool” stone in her path.

If you could describe Kori in a word, it would be “generous”. She loved helping people. Kori was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back. She worked for several months in special education. She also volunteered through “Ogden Strong Towns” where she advocated for making a better Ogden for everyone.

Above all, Kori loved her family. She spent many summers at her family’s lot in Sourdough. Kori grew up swimming in rivers with her friends, rock climbing with her siblings, and camping under the stars in the woods. In the last few years of her life, “Aunt Riri” spent most of her days being silly with her nieces and nephew or hanging out with her stepsisters and friends. She was an amazing aunt and would have made a fantastic mother, which was her biggest dream.

She will always be remembered as a loving, kind, passionate, and creative soul. If you knew her, you loved her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Meno and Matena Bush; and her stepsister, Vanessa Chavez.

Kori is survived by her parents, Sheri Findlay and Duston Bush (Stephanie); her brother, Tyler Bush (Nancy); her adopted siblings Stephanie Williamson Bush, Mahkenzi Bell Bush, and Joshua Bell; her stepsisters Paisley, Reagan, and Jaycee; her beloved nephew and nieces, River, Oakley, and Maple-Lynne; and her grandparents, Barbara and Reed Findlay.

Friends and family are invited to share their memories at a celebration of Kori’s life after the memorial services.
