Kotsi Ivanov Kotsev, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Stamford, Connecticut, on March 26, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on August 8, 1948, in Razgrad, Bulgaria, Kotsi lived a life rich with experiences, love, and passion, leaving a profound impact on all who knew him.

Kotsi's journey was marked by a commendable military service in Bulgaria from 1968 to 1970, which instilled in him a sense of discipline and dedication that he carried throughout his life. His professional career showcased his versatility as he served as a Workers Compensation Director and later ventured into the world of imports/exports, where he diligently worked to introduce Bulgarian goods, specifically locally sourced wine to the US local market. Most recently, he found fulfillment at Audi of Greenwich as a Service Car Loaner Manager and announced his retirement in September 2014.

Beyond his professional achievements, Kotsi was a man of many interests. He had an ardent passion for photography, capturing the beauty of the world through his lens. His love for car racing highlighted his adventurous spirit and he was an Eastern European former Race Car Driver. Kotsi was also a dedicated reader, often immersing himself in novels, and he had an undeniable appreciation for nature often captured in his photography. Music was a constant joy in his life which carried significance and brought back unforgettable memories to the last days of his life. Cooking and indulging in fine wine were among his joys, and he cherished every moment spent in the kitchen. A former avid skier who taught his 2 children to ski and bodybuilder, Kotsi embraced life with enthusiasm and vigor.

Family was at the heart of Kotsi’s existence. He is survived by his beloved wife, Roumiana, with whom he shared an extraordinary 54 years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and cherished memories. Kotsi was immensely proud of his two children: his son, Ivo Ivanov, and daughter, Yordanka Ivanova, along with their spouses, Dalia Ivanov and Ranjit Bhattacharjee. His legacy and greatest achievement lives on through his five grandchildren: Dya Acharjee (20yo), Kiko Ivanov (18yo), Ian Acharjee (18yo), Ivania Ivanov (14yo), and Rea Acharjee(12yo), all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

He is predeceased by his parents Ivan and Dana Marazov, and his grandparents Elia and Kuna Burneff of Maple Avenue in Greenwich, CT who played pivotal roles in shaping his character and values.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 31st, 2025 from 9-11am at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Followed by a Ceremony from the Bulgarian Priest to start at 11AM. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 399 North Street, Greenwich, CT.

The Kotsev family would like to thank everyone who touched Kotsi’s life, who provided support during his passing, the impeccable and epic memories and who attended today’s services.
