Kristine Killpack Mortensen

EMERY- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Kristine "Teen" Killpack Mortensen, who left this world too soon on Sunday, September 28, 2025. She was a radiant light whose warmth, laughter, and love touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Kristine was born in Price and raised in Emery County, where she graduated from Emery High School. On her 36th birthday, at her parents' home, she met the love of her life, Scott Mortensen. They were married on June 22, 2001, at the Country Jam in Mack, Colorado-an event that marked the true beginning of a beautiful life together.

Teen was a woman of many talents. A gifted artist, she excelled with colored pencils, cross stitch, tatting, and diamond painting. She loved camping, riding her Harley and ATV, and could often be found outdoors surrounded by family; her greatest treasure. She had a special bond with her dogs, joyfully throwing frisbees and watching them chase rabbits through open fields. Teen also delighted in nature's beauty, from watching hummingbirds in her garden to spotting eagles perched in distant trees, her eyes lighting up every time she saw one.

An excellent cook with a nurturing spirit, Kristine shared her talents during her years at The Grub Box, where she became fondly known as "Grub Box Kris." She had a remarkable green thumb, a gift passed down from her parents, and her home blossomed with flowers that flourished under her care.

Above all, Kristine lived for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Scott Mortensen; parents, Roger and Sandra Killpack; siblings, Jason and Beau Killpack; daughter, Kassie Marcelis; and grandchildren, Deitrich, Keagan, and Bella Ivie. She also leaves behind uncles, Gary Berensen, Randy Magnuson, and Scott Killpack; aunts, Laurel Magnuson and Jean Berensen; nieces and nephews, Mason (Kaylee Killpack), McKayla (Andrew Henry), Bradley Ostergaard, Courtney Ostergaard, Cameron Killpack, and Christopher Killpack; as well as step-daughters, Shannon (deceased) George Brown and Shawna (Israel) Petersen.

She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her one-of-a-kind laugh, her amazing hugs, and the stories she so loved to tell. Though gone too soon, her light will continue to shine through the countless lives she touched and the cherished memories she leaves behind.

Graveside Service, Thursday, October 2, 2025, 11:00 a.m., Emery Town Cemetery. Friends are welcome to join the family at the cemetery.
