With deep sorrow and profound love, we announce the passing of Kristen Marie (Chisum) Floyd, 42, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She left this life on November 27, 2025.

Born June 7, 1983, Kristen’s life was defined by devotion — first and foremost to her family, faith, and the land she loved. She is survived by her devoted husband, Curtis Floyd; her cherished daughters — Karley, Kali, Keely, and Kennedy; her brother, Brett Chisum and his wife Naomi and their two children Elise and Miller; her parents, Matt and Kay Chisum; and her grandmother, Jean Chisum; her in-laws, Lee and Diana Floyd; and a host of adopted children, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, Ray and Edna Ownbey, and her grandfather, Eual Chisum; and her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Mary Neidhardt.

Kristen was a mother first and always. Her daughters were her pride and joy, and she made sure they were raised with care, dignity, and love. She worked tirelessly to provide a stable, loving home — one where laughter, safety, and family mattered above all. As a wife, she stood beside Curtis through all seasons, offering love, strength, and unwavering support. Her efforts to build a warm, welcoming home showed her deep commitment to family and love.

Beyond the home, Kristen had a deep connection to the ranch — a place that grounded her and reflected her values. The ranch was not just a place, but a part of who she was: a place of hard work, care, and stewardship. She tended to it with dedication, always putting it among her highest priorities.

Though Kristen faced trials and tribulations in life, she never wavered in her faith. She trusted the Lord, placing Him at the center of her life’s journey. In the final years, that faith blossomed into an outward expression of compassion — she reached out to help others in dire distress, offering kindness, support, and hope. Countless people experienced her generosity and grace during times of need.

Even in sorrow, there are memories that reflect the beauty of Kristen’s heart:

Her home, always ready for family — rooms kept tidy, meals shared and love evident in every detail.

The ranch: early mornings, tending to work, caring for animals or land — a demonstration of her strong work ethic and love for the land she called home.

Her faith lived out quietly but powerfully — in prayer, in trust, in lifting others up, and in being a living example of strength through faith.

And above all, her love for her daughters, husband, and family — a love that formed their deepest memories and hopes for the future.

Kristen’s legacy lives on in her daughters — the values she instilled, the love she gave, and the memories they will always carry. Her husband, family, and all who knew her will forever remember her warmth, her flamboyant and fierce determination, her faith-filled heart, and her gentle kindness.

A celebration of Kristen's life will be held at the Borger Church of Christ on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 11 am. A short graveside service at Stinnett Cemetery will follow under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends and loved ones honor her memory by offering a prayer, extending a hand to someone in need, performing a small act of kindness or a gift to the High Plains Children's Home, (www.hpch.org/giving) 11461 South Western Street, Amarillo, Texas, 79118 - a tribute fitting for a woman whose life was defined by love, faith, and compassion.
