Kristine Ann Woodcock, 61, of Norton, went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born in Akron, Ohio on November 7, 1963, the daughter of James and Barbara McDivitt.
Kristine attended St. Matthew's School from kindergarten through eighth grade before graduating from Ellet High School. She spent her career in medical billing, most recently working for MMG.
In 1999, friends set up a blind date for Kristine and Steve Woodcock which led to their marriage in 2003, and a lifetime of love and partnership. Kristine was the organizer of the family, keeping everything running smoothly and caring for everyone. She especially loved her role of Grandma to her four grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and great-nephew. She loved to create special memories with them, including fun trips to the Ark Experience in Kentucky and Disney World in Florida. Kristine never missed an opportunity to document these special moments with photographs. The pictures she took will be forever cherished by her family.
Kristine's happiest place was near the water. She loved to jet ski and visit the beach whenever she could. Her favorite destination was Emerald Isle in North Carolina, where she looked forward to days with her "toes in the sand".
Kristine's faith was instrumental in guiding her through life. She was a longtime member of The Chapel in Akron. She was baptized there in 2019 and considered fellow church members to also be family. Although we are devastated by her departure, we know that we will be reunited with her in Heaven one day.
Kristine was preceded in death by her father, James McDivitt; her son, Michael Jones; and siblings, Kathleen McDivitt, Jimmy McDivitt, and Cameo McDivitt; brother-in-law, Bob Swain.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Steve Woodcock; children, Melissa (Randy) Strittmatter and Cody (Izzie) Woodcock; mother-in-law Sandy Trowbridge; mother, Barbara McDivitt; siblings, Jon McDivitt, Karen McDivitt, Kolleen McDivitt, Kerry Swain, Karla (Mark) McDivitt-Chase, Jeffery McDivitt, and Katy (Rick) Dietz; grandchildren, Taylor Jones and her daughter Iris Tracy, Kaydence West, Deven Jones, and Mackenzie Strittmatter; great-nephew, Grayson Hall; nephew, Anthony McDivitt; and other numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 10 am - 11:30 am, immediately followed by an 11:30 am funeral service at The Chapel Memorial Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, Ohio. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In honor of Kristine's battle with ovarian cancer, please wear the color teal to her services.
