The fund raiser that the Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Conception Parish sponsored in your name and in the name of the fallen heroes from Oldham, Henry and Trimble counties in Kentucky, for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, raised $7000 this year. That's a record. Good job for bringing this worthwhile effort to our attention.

September 22, 2015

Again this year we collected well over $6000 for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. You started something really good, Kris. Veterans with PTSD are grateful.

Before Kris died, he asked me to have the Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Conception Parrish send care packages to the 101st Airborne in Afghanistan for the men who were not getting much support from home. The first year (2010) we sent over 400# of goods to them in memory of Kris. Last year we decided to collect money instead, and contribute it to the support of the Intrepid Spirit Foundation for the treatment of head injuries and PTSD. Kris' request last year brought about the contribution of approximately $3000 to this foundation. We decided in 2010 that our collections would be done on an annual basis in honor of Kris and the fallen from the Oldham, Henry and Trimble County, Ky. area.

Dear Big Little Brother,

You have been gone for nearly 4 years and the saying that things get better with time, is completely untrue! Life has been hard for all of us since you passed; I don't think any of us will ever be the same. There is an emptiness that lingers in my heart, a relentless void that continues to haunt me. I hope that you are at peace and that one day I will see you again. You will always be loved and missed, forever.

I love you,
Kate

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

Having served with SFC Chapleau from Oct 2006 till Oct 2008, I consider myself lucky to be able to tell my family I served with a true American Hero. Not only did you bring honor to the Core of Non Commissioned Officers through your outstanding personal achievements I remember vividly you fighting to make sure your Soldiers got treated well and got the recognition they deserved. You have mentored and trained some of the finest Soldiers the U.S. Infantry has ever seen. The grattitude for your sacrifice will be played out in the lives of countless soldiers that you trained who will carry your memory forever and attempt to emulate your service. A great loss will forever be known in your passing.

July 17, 2010

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Kristopher will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms Sgt1c. Kristopher Chapleau. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Kristopher. And to Kristopher it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Kristopher, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,335 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Kristopher’s family and loved ones.

I am Deeply Saddened to learn of the loss of Sfc Kristopher Chapleau. The Price this Brave Soldier and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.

There will Never Be Enough Ways to Humbly Thank our Young Heroes for their Sacrifices, my brother among them, killed in action in Vietnam in 1967.

"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee."
~ Psalm 55:22 ~

I am sincerely hoping that you can feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the difficult days ahead, as this Grateful Country mourns with you, for Someone Very Precious to you, Who Is A True American Hero to all of us.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
