Kristopher Elliott Obituary
He was born on April 26, 1979, in Mitchell, S.D., to Clay Elliott and Vanessa Heupel. He attended Campbell County High School and graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, class of 1997. He joined the United States Army in November 1998 and chose to serve our country as his career.
Kristopher delighted in living life to its fullest, enjoying his many friends and family. He loved the outdoors, the freedom of riding his motorcycle, writing poetry for his mother and various activities with his dad.
Kristopher was a Recruiter for the United States Army, stationed in Tucson.
He served a one-year tour in Iraq from 2003-2004 and was a decorated Staff Sergeant, being awarded two Bronze Stars with Valor, the Achieved Army Accommodation Medal and received the Meritorious Service Medal in 2006, amongst many other honorable military awards.
He is survived by his wife, Natasha and son Karrson Elliott of Tucson; his son, Trustin Elliott of Casper, Wyo.; his father and stepmother, Clay and Valerie Elliott of Gillette; one brother, Kurtis Elliott and one sister, Amber Elliott, both of Gillette; his mother and stepfather, Vanessa and Myron Heupel of Billings; one stepbrother, Justin Heupel and one stepsister, Brandie Hanson of Billings; his paternal and maternal grandparents; along with numerous uncles, aunts, friends and loved ones.
Kristopher will be laid to rest in the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D., with full military honors on Monday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m.

Although some time has passed the memories will be there forever. The loss I feel cannot compare to yours but I always considered Kristopher to be “my soldier”. He was the prime example of what I imagined a fine soldier to be. If Trustin and Karrson grow up to be half as strong, sensitive and brave as their Dad, they will be fine people.
I did not know Kristopher well but I felt by knowing you Vanessa, I knew him. I cannot see a soldier without seeing his face. Kristopher gave so much in so short a time. His letters told so much about him and what was going on in Iraq, who’s going to tell the truth now? He led new people into joining the military who’s going to do it like he did? He told me a lot about matchbox cars, who’s going to tell me now? I told many people about “my soldier” when I was sending boxes to him in Iraq. Who’s going to be “my soldier” now? There isn’t any replacement for Kristopher, “my soldier”.

I have been blessed in this life to have two wonderful brothers. Both are amazing and respectful men. I have always been proud to be Kristopher's sister, every girl should have a brother like him. Always there to put a smile on my face and comfort me when there were tears. I look forward to the day when I get to see Kristopher again, until then I know he is with me as a my guardian angel. We are so sorry for your loss. We went to the National Cemetery last night to visit our son's grave and saw Kristopher is laid to rest next to him. We lost Paul October 17 2005, he was 2 years older than your son, and we know the hurt and emotions you are going through...Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you. I attended high school in Gillette with Kris until he moved to Casper. He was always a nice and caring young man. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I was saddened when I read the Gillette, WY newspaper today and saw his name. My sympathy to you all.

Natasha, Trustin and Karrson: There is very little anyone can say or do to ease the loss of someone who meant so very much to you. But we hope you can find comfort in the sorrow that you feel, just knowing there are many of us who understand and care.

Elliott was an awesome man he guided my daughter and son into the Army. He promised always to watch over them and protect them for me. My daughter is only 17. I wonder who will watch her now for all my trust was with him.He loved his family so and was such a strong man with a very tender side maybe many never got to see. He will forever be in my heart and thoughts for without people like him this country would not be a safe place to live. Thank you Kris be happy and enjoy where you are now.

For the short time my family knew sgt.Elliott, we found him to be a witty and funloving person full of life and energy he was considerd to be a friend .My family and i only wish we could have been abel to get to know him better.We will alway remeber him as our recruter but more importanty a friend.We will miss him very much.
