Kristy Hilton RIDGEVILLE, SC - On the morning of October 15, 2023, our loving daughter Kristy Dawn Hilton, 53 went to be with Jesus surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with brain cancer. Born on August 18, 1970, Kristy was a Daughter of Peggy Singletary Hilton and James Hilton of the Sandridge Community. Kristy graduated from Holly Hill Academy in 1988. She then went on to graduate from Trident Technical College where she received associates degrees in Business and Graphic Arts. She was a librarian and web designer for the Nuclear Submarine School for the Navy at Fluor Marine Propulsion LLC where she worked for 15 years. In 2013, Kristy retired due to her health. Kristy loved to read, paint, and make jewelry. She was a very active member of Sandridge First Baptist Church. Where she was a member of the choir, WMU, Discipliship Training Director, "prayer warrior", mission supporter, VBS worker, and assistant Sunday School teacher. Kristy is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Annie Lee and Victor Singletary, and her paternal grandparents, Ethel and Jessie James Hilton. Kristy is survived by her parents, Peggy and James Hilton; a brother, Jamey Hilton; aunts and uncles, Linda Harkins, Wayne and Martha Singletary, Charles and Loraine Singletary, Richard and Barbara West all of the Sandridge Community, and Ida McCurry of Dorchester; her beloved pets, Molly and Amber; and her many cousins and extended family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 6-8PM at Avinger Funeral Home. Friends will also be received Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 12-1PM at Sandridge First Baptist Church. The service will follow at 1PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Kristy was a very beautiful and loving daughter and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dorchester Paws or a charity of ones choice.
