On Thursday, January 1, 2026, our beloved Krystal Lynn Howard earned her wings and entered eternal rest.
Krystal was born on June 2, 1985, in Takoma Park to Kenny and the late Tricia Jenkins. She was a proud graduate of South River High School and later began her professional career at the University of Maryland.
On September 15, 2012, Krystal married the love of her life, Steven Howard. Together they built a beautiful family, Krystal welcomed Hailey into her life with open arms and later celebrated the birth of their son, Steven Jr. Being a wife and mother was one of Krystal’s greatest joys, and her love for her family knew no bounds.
Krystal was fun-loving, outgoing, and full of life. She cherished time spent with friends and family—whether attending concerts, sporting events, or simply relaxing and laughing together in the garage. Her warmth, humor, and vibrant spirit brought light to everyone around her.
Though her favorite team brought her plenty of disappointment, Krystal never lost faith and remained a loyal supporter of the Washington Redskins until the very end—a true testament to her unwavering loyalty and hopeful heart.
Krystal will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and spirit will live on through her devoted husband Steven of 13 years; her stepdaughter Hailey; her son Steven Jr.; her father Kenneth; her brothers Andrew (Camille) and Kenny; her sisters Liz (Joey) and Ruth and a multitude of extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Krystal accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and is now free from pain, resting peacefully in eternal paradise with her Lord.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother Tricia Jenkins, Grandma Schimph, Bobby, Aunt Lois, and Chandler.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Krystal’s favorite charity.
