It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Kul B. Aggarwal, who departed this life on November 27th at his home in Columbia. Kul was one of those rare human beings who was as extraordinarily brilliant as he was kind. He was a true blessing to everyone who knew and loved him.
Kul was born in Nairobi, Kenya where his father had a sawmill business. He had a wonderful childhood in Kenya. Soon after moving back to India with his family, at the age of 14 years old, Kul lost his beloved father.
Dr. Aggarwal graduated from Amritsar Medical College in Punjab in 1975 and went on to touch countless lives as a dedicated physician with his unwavering compassion for the next 50 years. He never stopped learning nor teaching. He was revered by both his patients and his fellow physicians, many of whom were fortunate enough to be trained under his calm and supportive guidance. His passion for his field, led him to start the Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. On his retirement, a teaching award was dedicated and named in his honor.
Kul and Archna were married in 1979 and raised two daughters together while traveling the world, always sacrificing for them and showing them the true meaning of the word love. After settling in the United States in 1989, Kul still took his family on the most memorable adventures around the globe. These precious moments he created for them will forever warm the hearts of his family. His great sense of humor was a gift, one he always used to uplift those around him, never talking poorly of anyone. Nothing will ever replace his gracious smile and his noble soul, and he will live on when we emulate him, in our kind words and good deeds.
Kul was preceded in death by his father, Labhu Ram Aggarwal, his mother, Kaushalya Devi Aggarwal, and his brother, Lajpat Rai Aggarwal. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Archna Aggarwal, his daughter, Ruchi Aggarwal and her family, his daughter Neha Aggarwal, his brother Bharat Aggarwal, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren.
Family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, December 2, 2025 for Antim Sanskaar [Hindu Last Rites] from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Viewing and cremation rites will be held from 2:00 – 2:30 pm with a remembrance service and sharing of memories to follow from 2:30 – 4:00 pm at Parker-Millard Funeral Service & Crematory. Please come and attend any and all parts you feel comfortable. Live stream will be found on Dr. Kul's tribute page located below this obituary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Millard Funeral Service & Crematory, 12 East Ash Street, Columbia, MO 65203 (573) 449-4153. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.parkermillard.com.

Yesterday

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Aggarwal for 30 years at the VA hospital. After I would identify a patient with myocardial perfusion abnormality with nuclear medicine imaging, they would get a remedy from him. My remark to him was "I find them, you fix them". Upon his retirement from the VA a few years ago, I wrote the following verse:

Kul is such a savvy guy
We are sad to say goodbye
He has worked here many years
Most will say he has no peers
And a legend he will be
Especially in our memory
