Kurt B. Gerhard, Jr., age 40, of Millcreek, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital from a brief illness. He was born in Erie on March 13, 1981, a son of Kurt B. Gerhard, Sr., and Judy A. (Vannucci) Gerhard.
Kurt worked as a tool maker for Parker LORD for the last 14 years, many of which he spent as Vice President for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), Local 1968. He was part of the Beauty Bar family, his wife's salon and spa. Kurt enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He would do anything for anyone, he loved everyone.
In addition to his parents, Kurt and Judy Gerhard, he is survived by his wife of 15 years, Michelle L. (Swanson) Gerhard, daughter, Ashlyn Pieri-Gerhard, boyfriend Andrew Linderman of Lancaster, a sister Melissa Byerly, husband Scott of Harborcreek, nephew Logan Byerly, niece Kylie Byerly, in-laws, Chris and Carol Gradler, and Greg and Pati Swanson; special friends Jeremi and Andrea Hermann, Justin "Frog" and Cortney Kaliszewski, Ed and Teri Hermann, Jimmy Joint and Jason Hermann; and his dogs Nellie and Rocky. He is also survived by extended family and many friends.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 1 pm until the time of a service at 6:30 pm with Rev. John Donner at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 2 pm at The Siebenbuerger Club (2114 French St, Erie, PA 16503).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family c/o the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory. This can be done via the Tribute Fund on Kurt's obituary page at www.bruggerfuneralhomes.com.
