Kurt Alfred Stough, 63, passed away at 7:49 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Howard Community Hospital. He was born May 2, 1948, in Kokomo, to Keith and Wanda (Leipse) Stough. On Oct. 23, 1982, he married Beth (Jones) Stough, and she survives. The couple has one beloved daughter, April Stough, Kokomo, who also survives. He attended Kokomo High School and spent his life taking care of his wife and daughter. He enjoyed bringing a smile to those he met, especially at the Kokomo Senior Citizen's Center, where he was active playing cards, doing morning exercises and stretches, and participating in the Joyful Sounds Choir. He was an animal lover who always adored pets and enjoyed the squirrels and other wildlife that would appear near his home. He was very proud of his home, neighborhood and town, and he was certified by KPD to be a part of Citizens Police. Sharing a love of Elvis with his wife, they treasured the trips they were able to take to Graceland with family. Also surviving are a brother, Ronald and wife Nancy Stough; brother, Tom and wife Linda Stough; sister-in-law, Molly "Kay" Stough; mother-in-law, Wanita Jones; sister-in-law, Cindy and husband Jack Glassburn; sister-in-law, Barb and husband Nick Mitchell; sister-in-law, Pam Lange; nieces, Angie (Stough) Creighton and Tammy (Stough) Mohr; and nephews, Mark Stough, Kevin Stough, Harlow "Mickey" Stough and Jeff Stough. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lawrence Stough. Visitation is noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. A small service will follow at 1 p.m. at the mortuary.
