Kyle Carter Christian of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Kyle was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Bill and Wendy Christian on May 13, 1991. The family moved to Mount Pleasant, SC in 1998, calling Charleston their home. Kyle graduated from Wando High School in 2009, where he played baseball and received an athletic scholarship to attend Newberry College. Kyle graduated from Newberry College in 2014 with a degree in Sports Management. His family will receive friends Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc, Mt. Pleasant Chapel. His Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 10:00 am in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Road with a reception to follow. Kyle is survived by his parents, Bill and Wendy Christian, his brother Todd (Brie) Drechsler and his nieces Hatley, Charleston (Charlie) and Nora, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. He was a loving son, a wonderful brother and was adored by his nieces. Kyle was best known for his infectious smile which could light up a room. He was a true friend with a caring heart to so many he met along the way. Kyle would celebrate his friends achievements or just be there to listen and offer support if life threw you a curveball. He loved all sports, but baseball was his true passion. His love of the game started at an early age. During his athletic career he played baseball for Wando High, Newberry College, The Diamond Devils, Diamond Warriors, and Pro Level Sports. On the field, he was a fierce competitor, yet always willing to help a teammate. He pitched his final game on Sunday, November 18, 2018, for a Charleston Men's League, the Orioles. So that others may enjoy Kyle's passion for baseball, a memorial has been created with the Charleston Miracle League Baseball Organization. My brother and I both played baseball with Kyle at Wando High School. Even though he was two years older than me, Kyle was a great team mate and a great friend. I have a ton of fond memories of him from school and on the baseball field. Kyle was an all around great guy and will be missed very much by so many people.

Kyle Christian, I do not know you at all except last Sunday my team faced you as pitcher in what ended up being your final game. What tragic news to see a 20 something young man die. Having read your obituary, and admittedly its a VERY small thing" but the words about your intensity and love for baseball... Watching you pitch one game I am glad to have seen it. You strike me as a guy who lived life 100% and although you died way too young I feel like you packed a lot into your 20+ years. God bless your family in this sad time.
