Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home - Lewisville on Feb. 2, 2025.
Kyler James Young, age 22, unexpectedly left this earth on January 28, 2025 to continue his eternal journey with his loving grandparents by his side. While his time on earth was short, his joyful, loving and helpful nature was seen and felt by his family, friends and acquaintances.
Kyler was born on January 12, 2003 in Bedford, Texas to his parents, Rudy and Pat Young. At home waiting to meet their little brother, was his two big sisters, Karlee and Kaylin. Kyler, being the youngest and the only boy in the family, was loved to the fullest. Growing up, Kyler spent his summers at the rec center swimming and never wanted to get out of the water. Bribery worked for these occasions. He was also known for being a prankster. He would put confetti in birthday cards for certain family members. Surprise! He would laugh when the cards were opened and confetti went everywhere. Kyler, standing at 6 ft 9 inches tall was called a gentle giant with the biggest heart. Some of his favorite things are his dog, Thunder, video games, movies, Jack Skellington, Scouting, and family. Kyler liked anything that had pizza in it's name. Kyler was well on his way to becoming a Tiktok Star and professional Gamer. Kyler attended Flower Mound High School and graduated in May 2022. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Young Adult Ward in Coppell, Texas.
Kyler is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard E Young and Geraldine (Stowe) Young, maternal grandparents, Charles C and Norma (Hurst) Kelley, his uncles Dennis Young, and Donald Buchanan.
Kyler is survived by his parents, James Rudolph and Patricia Jean (Kelley) Young, sisters, Karlee Jean Young, Kaylin Joy Young, aunts Peggy (Young) Buchanan, Betty (Young) Hensley, Mary (Kelley) Barger, Juanita (Kelley) Moen-Gautney, uncles Randy (Janet) Young, and Charles (Lesia) Kelley Jr., and 100+ cousins, you were all loved by Kyler. While we have lost a shining star, heaven has gained a special spirit.
The family would like to offer a special Thank you to Dr. Mauricio Delgado, Dr. Steven Sparagana, and the neurology staff at Scottish Rite for Children Hospital. Your compassion and kindness has always been a welcome comfort.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 12:00pm (noon), at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Carrollton Stake Center, 4000 Nazarene Dr. Carrollton, Texas. Graveside Services will immediately follow at Old Hall Cemetery, 1200 Mcgee Lane,
