Scott was born October 5, 1926 to Andrew and Charlotte Cunningham of Maupin, OR. He attended Gresham High School until he was drafted in January 1945. Scott served with the 27th Infantry Division and the 98th Signal Corps and fought in the battle of Okinawa. After his discharge in 1946, he moved on to graduate from University of Portland in 1951. He worked his way into the food business after that first with the Birdseye Division of the General Foods Corporation and later with United Grocers Inc. He helped found the Frozen Food Division and later became President of the National Frozen Food Association. An active church man he was ordained as an Elder in 1953 and as a Deacon later in life.
He married his first wife Joyce Ann McPherson, they were married 35 years and had two children Kenneth Scott and Lisa Ann. His first wife died in 1983, and it wasn't until 2 years later he would reconnect with his second wife Eileen Taylor Ferris, they dated 2 years before they married. Together they traveled the world
seeing most of the 50 states and visiting Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
He is survived by: his 2 children, Ken and Ann, Eileen's 3 children, Lisa, Anne, and Sue, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on July 14th at 2:00 pm, please send donations instead of flowers to Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church or the Troutdale Historical Society.
