La Jeanne A. "Jeanne" Miller, 93, formerly of Brookville, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at McKinley Health Center.
Born in Summerville on February 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late David and Mabel Crawford Powell.
She was a 1950 graduate of Summerville High School.
On June 17, 1950, at Summerville Methodist Church she married Clair E. Miller. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2020. They enjoyed over 70 years of marriage prior to his passing.
Having worked various jobs throughout her life, she retired in 1999 from Norlanco Medical Center as a Medical Records Transcriptionist.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brookville and Oakland Church of God in Distant.
Her hobbies included playing bridge with her Bridge Club, playing card games, knitting, crocheting, camping, helping in the church ministries and singing in the church choirs.
Friendships were very important to Jeanne, she cherished her friends.
Those surviving are her son, Brian (Kathy) Miller; her daughters, April Miller Crance and Dava (Jim) Barrett; her grandchildren, Melissa Reitz (Tim) Thrush , Melorra Reitz Fleming (Rob LaBenne), Melinda Reitz, Sara (Aaron) Haines, Jenna (Greg) Smith, Doug (Kelly Jordan) Barrett, and Greg (Melanie Smith) Barrett; her great grandchildren, Logan and Ian Thrush, Morgan Cook, Malorri Bonfardine, Adler and Owen Fleming, Claire and Kellan Haines, Violet Smith, Carter, Jordyn, Jackson, Kendall Barrett, Dylan and Taylor Barrett, Luke and Joel Burton; and great great grandchildren McKinley Jo and Hudson Gray Bonfardine; her sisters-in-law, Joan and Marilyn Miller; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Lloyd, Kenneth, Harold and Jack Miller, and Richard Neubauer; her sister Evelyn Nuebauer; and her sisters-in-law, Jean and Dorothy Miller.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville was honored to be entrusted with the final arrangements for Mrs. Miller.
Her family would like to express their gratitude to Edgewood Heights and McKinley for their outstanding love and care that they provided Jeanne over the last years of her life and the support that they have given her family throughout this journey.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held on April 12, 2026, at 3PM at Oakland Church of God, 122 Kohlersburg Rd.,
Distant, PA.
Interment will be at Vandervort Cemetery, Clover TWP., Jefferson County.
Her family suggests memorial tributes be made in Mrs. Miller's memory to either Grace Lutheran Church, 160 Franklin Ave.,
Brookville, Pa. 15825 or Oakland Church of God, 122 Kohlersburg Rd.,
