What a Class Act! PERIOD! A very dear Friend of Morgantown's 90's DJ's Stan McMorrow (always ending the night with Ladies and Gentleman put a fork in me I am done, if you don't work here or you aren't going home with someone who works here [yes i cleaned it a little], then you have to GO, BUT...), where Stan was always welcomed in the Lacy's Radio Studio, and which ever Nightclub Stan was working, Lacy, was always welcomed to come in and take the stage of the sound booth.

I used to be a low level co-worker of Lacy Neff and had the honor of parking his car thousands of times. He never failed to thank me and often gave me apples and bananas, always with a kind smile. I never knew that he even knew my real name until I greeted him in the dark on one Christmas Eve as he was leaving work. As per usual, I warmed his car and delivered it to him right at the door. He walked out, shook my hand and handed me a Hallmark card that he wrote "my friend Maury" on the front of. Inside was $ 200 along with a handwritten thank you note. I have never forgotten his generosity and even though I haven't worked there in years, I've always thought about him every Christmas Eve with a smile. He never knew that I took the money and bought my Mom's prescriptions that she hadn't been able to afford. I had 12 cents left over after leaving the pharmacy. Sadly, the ambulance was closing the door on my Mommy who had just passed away when I arrived with the antibiotics and inhalers. I still have the prescriptions, unused and I look at them often and think of Lacy. Christmas Eve brings the worst memories for me year after year but the one smile I have every Dec. 24th is for dear Lacy . God Bless my dear , kindest of friends. A true kind heart has passed. M.P.

Lacy's dad was my uncle. I am sorry we didn't know each other. My mom was Vauda Neff Moses, his aunt. His younger sisters and brothers spent a lot of time at our house. We lost touch and I was very sorry for that. I have and still do think about all of you. I am very sorry for your loss. I know how much hurt that is.

Wishing you much peace. Lacy and I were colleagues at WVAQ back when we were in our 20s. He was always so happy! He was an inspiration in his illness but also long before that. I wish Dana comfort in his memory, and that his children & grandchildren remember what power there is in his example of positive thoughts and kindness. We all must pass on, but few leave such a positive mark as he did. And I wish comfort as well to his friends and colleagues at WV Radio who loved him and who have lost so many friends in recent years. Blessings to all of you.

Wow! Words can't fully express how sorry I am to see my good friend Lacy pass from this world. We haven't spoken in quite a long time but could always pick right back up where we left off when we did. He was and will continue to be the bright light in the crowd. I am sure that there were a lot of angels this week saying "who is this guy?"as he entered into the heavenly realm. I have only known a few people in my life that truly showed a great of love for others in the way they lived and he was certainly one of them.

One of my favorite memories with Lacy was helping him DJ for the first time at East Park Elementary (Pretty sure I got that right) 7-8th grade dance (would have been 1984) He had an old turn table and we borrowed one from a friend and rounded up records from as many people as we could. Borrowed an old PA system from my dad and did the best we could with what we had. He was a Rock star even then at 17-18 years old. The kids loved him and everyone has loved him since. He was born to spin records and touch peoples lives through music. He loved music as much as anyone I have ever known. I am so happy that he lived a life doing not only what he was good at but what he loved to do and more importanly what he was meant to do. Few of us get that opportunity or even recognize it when we see it.

His family was my family back then and my family was his. I loved him and still love him like a brother and look forward to seeing his smiling face again someday on the other side.

My heart and prayers go out to the rest of Lacy's family, for I know that this is a great loss, but I celebrate tonight a man amoung men, my friend Lacy.

I will never forget growing up and thinking it was so cool my mom knew Lacy Neff. She always had him wish me happy birthday on the air and as a little girl that made my entire day. Will forever miss Lacy's contagious smile and captivating radio voice.

Love and prayers go out to the family and all those mourning.

I am so blessed to have been one of Lacy's nurses at MGH. He was on our unit for many months and we had the opportunity to really get to know and LOVE him and Dana. I will forever be in awe of his strength, courage and spirit. No matter how tough his day was he always had a smile for me and would hope I was having a good night. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him, but I'm glad he can finally rest. Much love to all of you.

It saddens me to learn of Lacys Passing. I am a health care provider at MGH, a technologist, and was blessed to have gotten to know Lacy from his many visits to our lab. He was always a gentleman who treated me and everyone with such down home goodness and respect, even when he wasn't feeling well he always had a smile and kind words to say to all. My heart felt condolences to his family and friends. You have surely lost a precious love one, and heaven has gained an amazing new Angel. God Bless you all.

I first met Lacy when I was in the 7th grade at Taylor County Middle School. He came to talk to my class about broadcasting. He made all of us believe we could be anything we wanted to be! When he spoke to you, he made you feel like you'd known him your entire life and that you were important. I listened to him on WVAQ my entire childhood and most of my adulthood. I attended drances he was the DJ for and even then, he made everyone feel apart of the party. He never let anyone be wallflowers or outsiders, nor let anyone treat others as such. This area will indeed miss this man because his mark was great!!! I pray that he's at Peace and that his family will rest well knowing their husband & father was/is a man loved and respected by millions. RIP Lacy. To the Lacy Neff family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting Lacy, however, I listened to him on the radio and you could tell his zest for and love of life everytime he spoke. I especially his caring and supportive attitude during the radiothons for the Children's Miracle Network. You could tell how much he loved children and how he especially wanted to help every child at the hospital as much as he could. I don't have the right words to say to you at this time, but please know that each and every member of your family is in my thoughts and prayers. God bless and keep each of you. Hugs and Prayers...RIP Lacy!!

I worked with Lacy in 2012, when I was involved with West Virginia Radio Corporation. I was a 21 year old kid, just getting my professional life started. During the time I worked with him, he always had encouragement to give or a joke or a story to tell. He was truly one of a kind. Thanks Lacy for everything.

To Dana and Lacy's family,

Lacy was without a doubt one of the most unique people I have ever met. Of course you already know that. I will always be thankful for the things he taught me at a young age about the radio business. But mostly for his friendship and guidance in my music career. Sending prayers your way during this troubling time but know that he is resting peacefully. And that heavens playlist just got one heck of a producer!

I am so sorry for you're loss. Although I grew up listening to Lacy, I was introduced to him in 2003 when my best friend Tiffany Maxwell started working with him at the station and I was quickly honored to call him my friend. His positive attitude and constant smile helped me through one of the hardest times of my life.......Words can't express what an amazing person he was and will always be remembered as....Prayers for Dana and family
