Lamar Sparks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farone & Son Inc. Funeral Home - Liverpool on Mar. 24, 2026.
Lamar Maurice Sparks, 21, joined the angels on March 18, 2026. He was born in Syracuse, NY on August 4, 2004 to his parents, Michelle Clarke and Leopold Sparks Sr.

Lamar attended Nottingham High School (Class of '23) and Frazer Middle School in Syracuse and Richie Elementary School in West Virginia. After completing school, he was enrolled in Job Corps' construction program and worked at the Amazon Distribution Center.

Lamar was a talented athlete and rapper. He performed in music videos with his brother, Isaiah, and friends. As a teen, Lamar played basketball at the YMCA. At Nottingham, he excelled on the outdoor track and football teams.

Lamar was funny, outgoing, and charismatic. He was a gentle soul whose smile and positive energy lit up any room he walked into. Lamar was always willing to lend a hand and stood up for what he thought was right. He was a silly goose and a loyal brother.

Lamar leaves to cherish his memory: his mother Michelle Clarke; father Leopold Sparks Sr.; siblings Tamika Sparks, Leopold Sparks Jr., Isaiah Sparks, and Tatianna Sparks; grandparents Dina (Lucy) and John Weakfall and Maurice Clarke; step-grandmothers Sandi Lewis and Detta Clarke; uncles Jerome Green, Maurice Clarke II, Quantrell Clarke, Daquan Clarke, Tychic Clarke, and Malik Clarke; aunts Benita Gardner, Jaime Green, Deanna Green, Monique Martin, Nyshaya Clarke, Shaniya Baker, and Lachelle Green; cousins Estelle Green-Bonsu, Jada Hayward, Navi Kelly, Terrace Hayward, Tyrian Davis, Amari Grayson, Julissa Green, Jodeci Green, Jailyah Green, Gianna Martin, Jordyn Kimbrough, Nayelece Williams, Manuel Green, Janiah Hayward, A'leyasia Jamison, Steven Jamison, Kennedi Jamison, Khamari Brown, Nylia Bradley, Morgan Clarke, Alex Clarke, Kuelle Clarke, Ameyre Clarke, Danay Clarke, Promiss Clarke, Trea'zur Hardy, Taseem Hardy, and Jae'den Betsey ; and godparents Peter J. Jacura and Susan Keeter.

Lamar Sparks lived life to the fullest and helped others do the same by giving the gift of life through organ donation.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 28th from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. at Grace Church, 819 Madison St., Syracuse. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Apostle Rosalind Little of G.R.A.C.E. ministries to officiate.
