Lamont Dunnam was a devoted man of God who desired above all to be known as a follower of Jesus. He loved his wife, Marilyn, with deep passion and devotion- reminding her she was beautiful nearly every day.

He is lovingly remembered by his son Gregory, and daughter-in-law, Romina Dunnam; his daughter, Catherine, and son-in-law, Kelly Gray; and his daughter April, and son-in-law, Jeff Walters. Lamont was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Cyrus Gray, Natalie Dunnam, Charlotte Gray, Audrey Dunnam, Lucas Gray, Raquel Dunnam, Brandon Walters, and Beckett Walters.

Lamont was born in Arizona on June 11, 1941, where he spent his childhood wrestling and raising havoc with his three brothers Steve, Ron and Terry. He liked to share the crazy stories of what it was like living in the blazing heat of Scottsdale. His wild childhood included raising pet skunks, chasing rabbits, catching scorpions and playing in the water canals for fun.

Lamont's family moved to California when he was a sophomore, where he attended Whittier High School. He met the love of his life, Marilyn Iliff, at a school dance and knew immediately she was meant for him.

Marilyn and Lamont were married in 1962 and spent 63 amazing years together. And what an adventure it was! There were ups and downs, but they were glad to be on the journey together. One of the scariest moments was when Lamont received the draft letter that he had been selected to fight in the Vietnam war. The only way Marilyn and Lamont survived the 21 months he was deployed was through their faith in Jesus Christ. Lamont had many incredible stories of how the Lord protected him during this time. Marilyn, prayed for him constantly and did her part to save up as much money as possible so that when he came home they would be able to start their family.

Over the years, money was always tight, but that never stopped them living life to the fullest and for the glory of God. Lamont was a leader and provider for his family…sometimes working three jobs in order to make ends meet. He would do anything for his family.

They lived in their Lake Oswego, Oregon home for 35 years where they raised all three children. Then in 2009, they moved to a property in West Linn with their daughter April, and son-in-law Jeff. They delighted in sharing the property and seeing their grandchildren grow up right next door.

Later in life, Lamont joined the Gideons where he would hand out Bibles and lead people to the truth of the gospel. This was one of his greatest joys of life. He was never afraid to share his faith and Christ's message with anyone who would listen. He treasured the community he found with fellow Gideons and his family will be forever grateful to them for their friendship.

Lamont had such an incredible sense of humor. He would always make his family and friends laugh. He would want you to know he loved anything with the color orange, snacking on nuts, and his dog Harley. He was fond of gardening, painting, sci-fi movies and talking politics with his wife. He wrote close to 1,000 letters to government and business entities, sharing his ideas about how to make our country a better place. However, nothing was more important to him than his faith. It gives his family great joy to celebrate his life, especially now that he is in the arms of his loving father in Heaven.
