Lana was our family's neighbor growing up in the village. She was always so sweet and wonderful to be around.

I bought a window pane mirror from her years ago. I always think of her when I look at it with a smile.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this time. She was a bright light!

One of the truly great friendships of my life. Having known Lana for nearly 30 years, I never knew her to have a bad day. I will never forget the hours of conversations we would have about almost every topic one could imagine. All I know is heaven has a new green thumb and if there is a planning committee I know she is already on it. I will miss her. Chris Brooke

So sorry to hear of Lana's passing. We have always appreciated her kindness and have felt so blessed in that we were able to purchase her Mom's home on Oak Street and enjoyed living there for 30 years. Lana always honked and waved and at times stopped by to see the updates.
Zionsville has lost a legend and many have lost a good friend. Rest in peace.

Sally and family,

I am so sorry to learn of Lana's passing from my friend, Sonja. Sadly, I haven't been in touch with Lana for about 20 years, but she will always have a place in my heart, and she has been a "story" in my family since 1994.

We worked together during her tenure at St Vincent, and shared many meetings and lunches. When I became pregnant with my first child, Lana shared with me that "she was a GREAT baby namer. We would lunch and she would come with a list of names. It didn't take many lunches before she came with just the right name: Cullen. We marveled over what a great name it was, and when my son was born in March of 1994, We named him, Cullen Crews Hauser.

As is often the case, I wish I would have kept in touch with Lana. She was such a special, kind and interesting person. We will think of her for many years to come, as the story of Cullen's name has been, and will continue to be a family story.

Prayers and hugs,
Dawn Hauser

Dear sweet Lana. I am heartbroken. Her big heart, incredible sense of humor and gift for storytelling, which was always hilarious, will never be forgotten. She brought a gourmet meal to our home, she insisted, after she had an infusion and was only going to stay a short while. She and Tonya, who passed away from MM in August, laughed all the way up to 10 PM and then realized they had to take their pills. Both such beautiful spirits dealing with an insidious cancer. What an honor to have known her and to have shared time with her. She will continue to make me smile and warm my heart. Her legacy will live on through her good will and in the hearts of all she has touched. Sending comfort, warmth and love to Sally.

So sorry to learn of Lana's passing. She was a one-in-a-million person! Always caring. Always upbeat. The world is a little duller without her beautiful personality. Although her friends and family will miss her terribly, she has moved on to the next exciting phase of her life!

I was so sad when I heard of Lana's passing. A close friend of her brother Steve, in HS, I have known the Funkhouser family for a long long time.

Lana was a quiet, caring, thoughtful person who will be missed by very many persons who knew and loved her.

I was a lucky nurse who cared for Lana at IU in the Myeloma clinic. I say lucky because she was an incredible person, human being who always had only positive things to say about life!! I am heart broken over her loss, way too soon. Prayers for her family
