Lance E. Whitmore

1971 – 2023
AUGUSTA – Lance E. Whitmore, 52, of Augusta, died on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at the Alfond Center for Health, in Augusta.
He was born in Augusta, Maine on July 5, 1971, the son of Gilbert and Diane (Sproul) Whitmore.
He attended Lincoln Academy in Damariscotta and graduated from Thomas College in Waterville with a degree in accounting.
He married Kathleen Whitmore (Howard) and together they raised 6 children.
Lance is survived by his father Gilbert Whitmore, his mother Ruby Diane Sproul Whitmore, his stepmother Pauline Lamontagne, his brother Joseph Whitmore, his children, Eric Austin, Nikeisha Austin, Mindie Howard, Ashlie Whitmore, John Whitmore and Naomie Strickland, 16 Grandchildren, a multitude of family members and a large plethora of Friends!
Lance enjoyed Hiking, Horseshoes and Kayaking. He Loved a variety of music and Rocked AC/DC on most days while playing Pool with his children and Friends. He shall be remembered as a Fun, Adventurous and Loving Father, Brother, Son, and Friend.
In lieu of Flowers, the Family ask that instead you make the most of each moment. Share a little more of your time with a loved one. Pick up the phone and plan an adventure with someone you may have lost touch with and check on those you care for often. Have Grace and Forgive any quandaries you have with others, including yourself, and start tomorrow with a clean slate!
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 27th, at 10:30 am at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, A Celebration of life will follow afterward for 12:30 at the Augusta Civic Center.
