Landis Alley Jr.

Landis Alley, Jr., age 84, of Raven, VA, rejoiced as he was escorted into Heaven on Thursday, November 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Landis was born on August 29, 1941, in Tazewell County, Virginia, to the late William "Pete" Alley and Rebecca Alley. Landis was a construction worker for J & A Street until his retirement. He was a family man who loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, who were his greatest joys in life. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Above all, he was a God fearing man. He loved the Lord and reading his Bible. When Landis lost his eyesight, he did not let that stop him from receiving God's word; he loved spending time listening to his audio Bible. He and his wife enjoyed visiting different churches and discovering the many ministries of God. His favorite verse in the Bible was John 3:16-17: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
In addition to his parents, he was met in Heaven by his siblings: Tommy Alley, Shirley Gilbert, Ruby Short, Bob Alley, Billy Alley, and Terry Alley. He was the last surviving member of his family.

Also surviving are twenty great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Landis Alley, Jr., will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia, at 12:00 PM with Bros. David Osborne, Robert Osborne, and Paul VanDyke officiating. Pallbearers will be Jr. Alley, Kevin Alley, Dean Osborne, Douglas Osborne, Joseph Osborne, and Cameron Alley. Honorary pallbearers will be Wyatt Keen, Weston Keen, Landon Osborne, Skyler Osborne, and Bryson Osborne. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
