Ann Bush of Ponte Vedra Beach passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Harris County, Georgia on December 25, 1931, the daughter and only child of the late Robert Edward and Mattie Woodall Cummings. Her mother predeceased her, when Ann was four years old. She and her father made their home with her maternal grandparents until her marriage to John Crawford Bush of Columbus, Georgia in 1950.
Prior to moving to Florida in 1991, she and her husband owned and operated three men’s clothing stores as well as real estate holdings.
In Columbus she was very active in her church, Eastern Heights Baptist, where she served for over 35 years as the Young Matrons Sunday School Teacher, President of the church’s Woman’s Missionary Union.
She was active in community affairs serving as a past President of Town and Country Garden Club, and Flower Workshop and Volunteer at the Medical Center all in Columbus.
After moving locally, she went to work for Maison Blanche later Gayfers where she became a Sales Specialist and recipient of Employee of the year 1994 and retired in 1999.
She was a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church, Jacksonville and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Jean Bush, Julington Creek Plantation, sons; John C. Bush Jr., Ponte Vedra Beach, Edward Cummings Bush (Robyn), Toccoa, Georgia. Grandchildren: Adrienne Bush Blackwell (Shane), Craig A. Bush, Amana Ann Bush and Edward C. Bush, Jr. Great Grandchildren are William and Catherine Ann Blackwell.
A private family service and burial will be held in Columbus Georgia.
Donations in her memory maybe made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association of North East Florida.
