Laris Sutton passed away unexpectedly at his home in Franklin NC on Friday December 5, 2025.

He was born on January 26, 1948 in Wayne County NC to the late James Sutton and Nell Rhea Harrell Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Ginger Sutton (Luper), Brenda Sutton Leggett, Jenny Sutton (Miller), and his brothers James Haywood Sutton, Dean Sutton, and an infant brother. He is survived by his sisters Lanea Sutton of Elm City NC and Lynn Sutton Otey of Welcome NC and his brother Randy Sutton of Rocky Mount NC.

He is survived by his daughters Michelle Sutton Bellissimo (Jason) of Garner NC , Leslie Sutton Franzwa of Rocky Mount NC, and Tammy House Ramirez of Saint Joseph Missouri. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his canine companions, Milo and Otis.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. Upon returning from the war, he worked as a civil servant for the US Postal Service . He later did car body work and engine repair. In his golden years, he moved to the mountains where he enjoyed time tinkering on cars, watching westerns and Ancient Alien shows, reading, and enjoying his dogs. He loved spending time with his family and doting on his great grandson Ben Allen. He will truly be missed.
