Larkin "Pete" V. Bowen of Marianna, FL, passed away from this life into the presence of the Lord on January 5, 2026 at the age of 104.

He was born October 24, 1921 in Miller County, Georgia. Mr. Bowen was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Marianna and a retiree of the Department of Transportation after 42 years of dedicated service.

Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Orianna Elizabeth Bowen; son, Hays V. Bowen of Colquitt, GA; granddaughters, Vickie Adams and Patricia Loveday of Colquitt, GA.

He is survived by daughters, Ruby Ellen Oswald (Wayne) of Graceville, Dianne Weinstein (Bob) of Tallahassee, Winnie Thames of Dublin, GA; daughter in law, Mildred Bowen; grandchildren, Susan Henley and Michael Bowen all of Colquitt, GA, Tanya Davenport and Cecelia Grissett of Graceville, Patrick Thames of Dublin, GA, Justin Thames of Tallahassee; eleven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 9, 2026 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted or a memorial contribution may be made to The Gideons International or a charity of your choice in Pete's honor.

Funeral services are entrusted to the Lambe family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
