Larry Michael Alexander, 69, of Concord, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Five Oaks Manor in Concord.
Larry was born July 22, 1955, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the late Robert Erskine Alexander and the late Pauline Inez Bingham Alexander.
Larry dedicated much of his time to giving back to the community. He loved to cook, whether it was helping with the Men's Breakfast or cooking barbecue for church fundraisers or other events. Larry was an avid sports fan. You could always count on him to be watching anything from college basketball to pro golf. He was a jokester at heart- even charming the nurses at Five Oaks Manor with his humor. He would make every interaction a memorable one. Larry seemed to touch everyone around him. His absence will leave an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
A celebration of Larry's remarkable life will take place at 12:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home's Concord Chapel, officiated by Pastor Henry Lee. Friends are invited to join together not only to mourn their loss, but also to celebrate a life well-lived.
Though we say goodbye too soon today, Larry Michael Alexander’s spirit lives on through the memories he imparted upon us all- and through each laugh shared among friends and family. Larry will forever be missed but never forgotten.
Larry is survived by his three children: daughter, Angel Moore of Catawba, NC; daughter, Ashley Schmidt of Belmont, NC; son, Robert (Christie) Alexander of Shelby, NC. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Emily, Cameron, Madison, and Reagan- who brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life. Larry also leaves behind two loving sisters: Melanie Phifer and Amy Alexander.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Hellfighters of Concord "Mission at the Cross," 167 Happy Lane, Statesville NC 28677.
