Larry Wayne Allen, 77, of Bells TN, went to his heavenly home on Monday, October 6, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, with Bro. Steve Brown, Bro. Craig Tate and Bro. Larry Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, TN. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Larry was a devoted husband to Margaret, his beloved wife and soulmate of 34 years. Larry was an extraordinary dad to his daughter, Dianne Warren (Keith), and his son, Steve Brown (Cristy). Larry was the most supportive “PawPaw” to his four grandchildren - Alissa Warren, Avery, Jake and Nolan Brown. Larry was the son of Finis and Ada Allen and a loyal brother to his eleven siblings - survived by Jean Maness, Brenda Warren (Larry), and Sandra Horton – preceded in death by Jessie Allen, Calvin Allen, Macy Allen, Margie Cathy, Sue Cathy, Dennis Allen, Loretta McLillie and Danny Allen. Larry is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Larry was a loved and valued member of Union Grove Methodist Church. His wise advice was always faith-based and trusted. Larry was always on the go, ready to lend a helping hand, or tending to his garden. Sergeant Larry W. Allen proudly served his country as a United States Marine - Semper Fi. He enjoyed his daily walks in Wal-Mart, making friends while getting exercise and looking for bargains, then heading to the local Burger King for breakfast with his crew.
Larry cherished spending time with his family and friends reminiscing over the past, traveling with Margaret and his siblings, fishing, celebrating birthdays and holidays, playing cards or simply giggling with his grandkids over an unsolvable riddle. “PawPaw” may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts — his love and legacy will live on through all who knew him. Pallbearers for the service are Josh Poole, Bruce Staggs, David Overton, John Simmons, Scott Simmons, and Bob Scifres.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dean Frederick, Bobby Williams, Larry Turpin, Hubert Barcroft, Billy Howard, Robert Mitchell, Felton Dickerson, Connie Taylor and the Burger King Crew.
The family has requested memorials be made to the International Sacral Agenesis/Caudal Regression Association at isacra.org, 101 Cottontail Dr., Lake Frederick, VA 22630. Please add Allen Memorial Fund on the memo line of check.
