Larry "Junkman" Andersen, 82 of Gibbon passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at his home in Gibbon. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Larry was born June 10, 1943 in the Junkyard in Gibbon, NE to Raymond and Lola (Sheen) Andersen. He was raised in Gibbon and was a 1962 graduate of Gibbon High School. Following graduation, Larry was a submariner on the USS Ronquil SS 396, serving from May of 1962, until his honorable discharge in December of 1965. Larry was proud of his time in the service and his diesel boat brotherhood. On September 2, 1983, Larry was united in marriage to Sue Snodgrass. Larry was a junker and recycler his entire life and was the owner of Junkman's Recycling for many years.

Larry was a member of the American Legion, DAV, NE Submarine Veterans, USSV1 United States Submarine Veterans, and Brothers of the Third Wheel. Larry was known worldwide for his motorcycle trike.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sue Andersen of Gibbon; daughters, Patricia (Michael) Fritchie of Lincoln and Marisue Rouse of Kearney; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother, Don Andersen of Texas; brothers-in-law, Andy Snodgrass of Kearney and Dean Follette of Kearney; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Andersen of Kearney and Violet Andersen of Gibbon; as well as many nieces, nephew, extended family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Jim Andersen; and sisters, Betty Judds and Shirley Follette.
