Larry E. Arnold, 84, of Salem, Arkansas, was welcomed into his home in Heaven on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Baxter Health Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Larry was born on May 29, 1941, in Birmingham, Alabama, son of the late Gaines and Hazle Susan (Atkinson) Arnold.
Larry was married to the love of his life, Betty (Stokes) for 50 years. They were blessed with two sons, Brian and Brent.
Larry graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. He later completed his Masters in Technical and Expository Writing. He was a member, by initiation, of Phi Kappa Phi fraternity, the oldest, largest and most selective all-disciplined honor society in the U.S.
Larry was a faithful member of the Salem First Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, loved his church and was a man of prayer. He loved music and could play many instruments. He also enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his two brothers, David Arnold and Lynn Arnold (Debra), both of Birmingham, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, wife Betty, sons Brian and Brent, brothers Hollis Wayne Arnold, Terry Neil Arnold, Rodger Arnold, James Arnold and Paul Arnold.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 5, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in Prosperity Cemetery in Rison, Arkansas, beginning at 3:00 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026.
