Cincinnati - Dr. Larry Kent Benbow (Dr.B), age 86, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Benbow was my elementary school Principal at Lincoln Elementary and one of the first male figures in my life that I remember admiring and looking up to.

My deepest sympathies to the family. Larry and I go way back. I worked at Frank Elementary School where he was the Principal. My teaching assignment was most unusual and beyond challenging but Dr. B supported me every step of the way. He was such a joyful man.

Mr. Benbow was my principal at Frank Elementary School. My late mother (Patricia Meier) ran the school PTA and was friends with a teacher there - Mr. Charles Koenes. The three of them were always joking and kidding around in the employee lounge.
He was a wonderful man. May he rest in peace.

Dear Benbow family, so sorry to hear of Mr.Benbow's passing. He was our principle at Berryville for a few years. I remember him as being so very nice, smiling and saying hello to all us kids.

My goodness, Dr. (Mr.) Benbow. I remember when he was the principal at Frank Elementary School in the mid-1970s when I was a student there ('74/'75?). He always seemed to have a very pleasant demeanor. I am glad to see that he furthered his education and continued his career as an educator through the KUSD.

Thank you for all the smiles, Dr. (Mr.) Benbow!! I can't forget you.

Dr Benbow was the principal at Jeffery Elementary when I started there in the 4th grade, back in 1991. I remember once, as an incentive for everyone to reach our goal in some reading program, he said he would put on a dress and sit in a lawn chair facing 39th Ave. We reached that goal. He will be greatly missed.

Our sympathy to you. I didn't know your dad as well your mom, but I heard about him and your family because I taught with your mom at Frank Elementary in Kenosha. I credit my survival of my first year at Frank to Barbee. She was wonderful!! She was the best mentor anyone could have had! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely, Faith & Rod Pfeiffer

Larry was such a special man. The twins Irene Ray and Ilene Houpt had great times playing with and watching over Larry when he was little. They talked often about him. We enjoyed many special visits and times with Larry and Barbee over the years. They were wonderful people and treasured family members. Prayers for your family during this difficult time.
