Larry Dean Biglake went home to be with his personal Lord Jesus on Wednesday, October 29, surrounded by his loving kids and family. Born on January 5, 1977, in Sheridan, Wyoming, Larry grew up in Lodge Grass but also lived in various places like Sheridan, Crow, Hardin, and Billings. He was part of the Double-Ties-The-Bundle Clan.
Most of his memories were made in LG while spending weekends at Black Bridge with Grandpa Micky and all his brothers and sisters. Larry was an All-State runner and member of the 1994 State Champion Cross Country team at Lodge Grass High School. One of his favorite workouts was running the hills of his Auntie and Uncle Carson and Mamie Yellowtail's Summer Camp ranch at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains. Later on, he became known for being an artist, always drawing and painting for the people he loved. Things like creating tattoos for people, basketball tournament banners, and voting signs. One we can look at almost every day is the mural on Crow Bridge. Another one he did was the library at Lodge Grass High School. Maggie Carlson was his mentor since he was a little boy. In 2005, he married Verlie Notafriad, later divorced in 2012, his first and only wife. Larry loved to cruise around with his kids and grandkids, listening to music while bouncing stories off of each other. He listened to everything and anything with great content. There are many things we want to say about him, but here's just a few we could put together.
Larry loved Jesus and always thanked him for another day on earth. His favorite scripture was Exodus 3:14, specifically quoting Jesus, "I am that I am" with pride.
Larry was a jokester; he loved to laugh with his family at any chance he could. Larry loved each and every one of his kids, and when his grandkids came along, he was so proud to be in all of their lives, watching them grow up.
Larry is survived by his mother, Safara Biglake; adopted parents, Stella and Greeley NotAfraid, Gladious Crookedarm, Christine (Patrick) BigLake, Fatima (Tom) CrazyMule, Theo (Jim) Ward; other mothers, Jacinta (Chris) Goodluck, Theo Stewart Ward, Mamie Stewart Yellowtail, Rosie Bends, Magdalene Rockabove; other fathers, Jim Ward, Carson Yellowtail, Johnny Stewart, Walter Stewart Jr, Byron Bends, and Harry Rockabove.
