Larry Bishop Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All Faiths Funeral Home - Madera on Jan. 14, 2026.
Larry Bishop, age 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 5:26 PM. He was born on June 29, 1953, in Arkansas to Elijah Bishop and Jessie Mae Bishop (Williams).

Larry was a devoted Christian, a loving father, grandfather, and son, and a man who lived his life with integrity, passion, and generosity. He was known for his willingness to help anyone in need and for the warmth he brought into every room. With his bright smile, friendly nature, and gift for conversation, Larry built a wide circle of friends and made everyone feel welcome. He enjoyed an active lifestyle and was an avid runner and tennis player throughout his life.

Professionally, Larry was a highly respected real estate expert for more than 40 years and was affectionately known as the "Bishop of Real Estate." He was a proud member of both the California Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. He generously shared his knowledge and was always eager to help others succeed in the industry.

He is survived by his daughter, Shakira Nicole Hensley (Bishop), his son-in-law Cade Hensley, his granddaughter Kezra Nicole Hensley, and his grandson Kyson Cade Thomas Hensley. He is also survived by his mother, Jessie Mae Bishop; his sisters Gloria Sykes, Loys Jean White, Delores Franklin, and Joyce Bishop; and his brothers Ambrose Bishop and Elijah Bishop.

Larry's faith and family were the foundation of his life. He loved Christ deeply, cherished his family, and inspired those around him through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering work ethic.

A funeral service will be held in Madera, California, near Fresno, in accordance with his wish to be laid to rest beside his father. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry's memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association: https://www.lbda.org/donate/..

Larry Bishop will be remembered as a devoted family man, a faithful Christian, a dedicated professional, and a friend to many. His warmth, generosity, and ability to connect with others will be deeply missed, and his legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to live on.
