Larry Dean Bobst

Larry D. Bobst, 90, of Clarion, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.

Private graveside will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the summer of 2026.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice, 310 13th Street South in Humboldt, Iowa 50548.

Larry Dean, son of Leslie and Letha (Gunderson) Bobst, was born on March 5, 1935, in Clarion. Larry grew up on his family's century farm near Alexander.

After graduating from Alexander High School in 1952, Larry worked at Nelson Feed and Grain in Galt. In 1954, Larry was united in marriage to Linette Nelson at the Congregational Church in Galt. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove before settling in Galt in 1957. Later they moved to Clarion in 1968 where they raised their family.

Larry spent 30 years working at local banks, working in Renwick, New Sharon, LuVerne, and finally retiring in Corwith. Over the years, Larry and Linette took a few trips, with memorable fishing adventures in Canada.

Larry is survived by his sons Kevin (Robin) Bobst of North Liberty and Craig Bobst of Clarion; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister Laurene (Larry) Stump; brother Lenard Bobst; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linette in 2021; his parents; brother LeRoy (Karen) Bobst; and sister-in-law Lorraine Bobst.
