Larry Boyer left a sort of legacy at the Naval Research Laboratory amongst computational scientists there, in relation to "Zoyer." (That's another story.) He was excellent in extending formalism, putting it into sometimes complex code, and doing the science that follows. My family and his exchanged visits a couple of times. What with his two youngest boys, and our two boys ... well, boys will be boys. Sometimes the canary suffers a bit. I had heard when he retired that he got more serious about golf and dancing. Larry was a bluegrass lover from his early days in Nebrasca. The many memories are pleasant to think back on.

My condolences to Larry's family. Larry and I are third cousins, once removed. We connected because we were both tracing our roots. In 2015, we took a trip to Virginia to do some serious research. It will remain one of my favorite memories. I last saw him in Mullen in 2023. I was planning to see him again this summer. I will miss our occasional talks.

My sincere sympathy to Larry´s family and friends. Gone but never forgotten, Larry will always be missed. I have known Larry for a number of years and was always proud and happy to call him a special friend. One of my favorite dance partners, Larry was always smiling, always a gentleman and always ready for one more dance. Love you Larry Boyer, RIP my friend.

Larry was the epitome of a gentleman. He taught me his peekaboo shag move and was always one of the first to ask me to dance. He will definitely be missed by the shag community.

Larry always had a smile on his face and a hug to share. He was an amazing dancer and very patient with a novice shagger(me). All the ladies loved to dance with him and he loved to dance with them. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

So saddened and shocked to hear of his passing. I knew him since the 90´s when we started the Northern Virginia (Carolina) Shag Club. He was a wonderful dancer and always the gentleman. He was very kind and patient while teaching dance to others. He is sorely missed. Condolences to his loving family.

Larry was so welcoming to me when I first joined NVSC, and taught me many steps. Next to my husband, he was always my favorite dance partner. He will be remembered fondly.

It was always the highlight of my day when Larry would ask me to dance. He was always the perfect gentleman dance partner. Not only was he an excellent dancer, he always had a kind word of encouragement and helpful tips for those of us who were just learning. He was truly one of a kind, and we will miss him greatly!
