Larry G Brenner

Larry Glen Brenner passed away on August 10, 2024, in Boring, Oregon at the age of 81 in an accident. He was born on May 21, 1943, in Grants Pass, Oregon to Ruth and Glen Brenner.
Larry grew up in Southern and Central Oregon graduating from high school in 1961 from Glendale High School in Glendale, Oregon. In July of 1964, during the Vietnam War, he joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Warbler. He was stationed in Sasebo, Japan for most of his years of service.
It was in Japan that he met and married his wife, Masako. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Melissa, Jonathan, and James.
Larry was an auto mechanic, an electrician, and a man of many talents. He could fix just about anything. He owned and operated an Auto Repair/Body shop in Canyonville, Oregon for 9 years. After returning to the Boring area, He worked at Willamette National Cemetery as a mechanic for the next 19 years. In retirement, he and Masako moved to the island of Hawaii in 2013, where they made many new friends and enjoyed the Island way of life for the next 7 years before returning to their home in Boring to live with Jonathan and family.
He was a friend to all who met him, loved his dogs, especially his beloved dog Daisy, was an avid reader and a wonderful family man. He even learned to ski at the age of 55 so he could enjoy skiing with Jonathan and James.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Masako, daughter, Melissa Bilyeu (husband Chad), son, James (wife Alexis), granddaughters, Isabella and Jayden, grandson, Justin, brother, John Brenner, sister, Nancy Day (husband Keith) and many nephews, cousins, and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Glen Brenner, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Brenner and died together with his son, Jonathan.
A memorial service for Larry and Jonathan will be held on October 6, at 3:30pm at Good Shepherd Community Church, 28986 SE Haley Road, Boring, OR 97009. A reception will follow at Mt. Hood Community College.
