Larry Brown

Larry G. Brown (82) of (Portland, Oregon) passed away in Vancouver, Washington on October 31, 2025. Larry was born on August 21,1943, in Detroit, Michigan, to Alice L.Drabik, and Donald R. Brown. He attended Stoughton High School in Wisconsin and was a graduate of Texas Christian University (TCU). Larry started his career in the US
Air Force as an officer, with tours in California, New York, Holland, Florida, and a remote tour to the Arctic Circle. After the Air Force of 8 years, he worked in the private sector as a safety engineer until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, the outdoors, watching college football and sports. He was also very mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on cars, engines, or just fixing things around the house. Larry was easy going, giving, social person and Christian, with the greatest values. He married Shirley M. Sheneman in 1966 who he had met at TCU, and they had one child, Gregory L. Brown.
Larry is survived by his first wife Shirley M. (Sheneman)(Ettel), Gregory L. Brown (Son), Thomas A. Brown (Brother), Alice L. Mills (Sister), Byron D. Brown (Brother),and was predeceased by James S. Brown (Brother).
My father gave me a loving home with so many cherished memories, he will be missed.
Memorial services with military funeral honors will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on November 6, 2026, at 11 AM.
