Larry William Burker, 77, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at his home. Larry was born on October 28, 1947, in Hagerstown, MD to the late William Cunningham and AnnaLee Thelma (Hutzell) Burker. He was a 1965 graduate of Boonsboro High School in Boonsboro, MD. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and receiving 3 Bronze Star Medals, 2 of them with Oak Leaf Clusters. He also received the Purple Heart. He was employed as a supervisor by Eastalco of Frederick for over 30 years until his retirement. Larry was of the Methodist Faith and attended Sharpsburg United Church of Christ. He was a member of Clopper Michael Post #10 American Legion Boonsboro, MD and past member of Antietam Post #236 American Legion Sharpsburg, MD, where he held various positions. Larry was very active with Sharpsburg Little League for many years and also helped with cub scouts in Sharpsburg. He enjoyed softball, golfing, fishing, Myrtle Beach, and his cigars. He also enjoyed trips with his family and feeding the squirrels from his porch. Larry loved his family, especially his grandkids. Larry is survived by his wife Linda Kay (Gatrell) Burker whom he married on July 3, 1970; 3 daughters: Kelly J. Ingram (Steve) of Sharpsburg, MD; Tracy D. Longerbeam (Darin) of Boonsboro, MD, Brooke Tarmon (Roy) of Sharpsburg, MD; 2 sons: Mike L. Burker (Kelly) of Sharpsburg, MD, Brian "Potsey" Webber of Sharpsburg, MD; 3 brothers: Ronald Burker of North Myrtle Beach, Robert Burker of Boonsboro, MD, Ellis "Duck" Burker of Sharpsburg, MD; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson Brett Andrew Miller and great granddaughter Isla Mae Jarman. The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open starting at 9:00 am on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 am with Rev. Delancy Catlett officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Sharpsburg, MD. Military Honors will be provided by Clopper Michael Post #10 American Legion Boonsboro, MD.
