Larry Canary Obituary
Larry was born on January 13, 1944 to the late Web and Lillian (Kinnick) Canary. He attended and graduated from Franklin High School. After graduating he served in the United States Navy on the USS Chicago. He then became a police officer for the Franklin Police Department, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. He took immense pride in serving his country and the community he grew up in.
Larry is survived by his wife Pansy (Pitcock) Canary; daughter Shannon Canary Parker; son Shawn Canary; and 4 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and brothers William and Gene Canary.
Heartfelt thanks and gratitude go to the men of the 82nd Airborne Division for taking Larry under their parachutes and accepting him as one of their own. He so enjoyed getting together and having lunch with them on Wednesdays at Skyline Chili.
Rev. Gary W. Pitcock will conduct a service on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 2:30pm at Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 12:30pm until the service hour. Larry will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.

I remember him when I was younger and enjoyed talking with him and other officers. He´d come to my Dads furniture store to visit (Holthouse) and lived to tease me when I got my drivers license! He´d stop me just to say hello but at that time in life I´d think I was in trouble but he´d always get a good laugh at me! Jenni Chambers Waters. RIP Larry
