Larry Chastain Obituary
Born August 4, 1944, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Albert and Edith Aldrich Chastain. Before retirement he worked for Bosch Corporation and the Franklin County School System. He was an active member of The Lift Worship and Oasis (Older Adults Still In Service). He loved wood working and helping people with whatever task they needed help with. Larry never met a stranger and was adored by all who met him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son: Joey Chastain; sisters: Henrietta Smith & Patsy Jones; brother: Billy Powell.
He is survived by his wife: Gail Poland Chastain; children: Stephanie Henderson, Robin Hanley (Timothy), Lisa Chastain, Ramona Wiggins, Marty Chastain (Shera), Michael Poland (Nina); grandchildren: Eli Hanley, Callie Hanley, Evan Poland, Christian Poland, Jacob Chastain; sister: Joyce Parker.
Mr. Chastain's request was to be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at his church (The Lift Worship in Carnesville) at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2025
